The author likes music.
Although I say I like music, I'm not that much of a music lover, so I don't think I'm addicted to it. But if you ask me what I've spent the most money on, I'd say audio equipment.
Over the past year, I have also changed my speakers from DALI ZENSOR7 to Sonus Faber Lumina 3 and then Venere Signature from the same company.
Considering I'm just a little more of a music lover, I think I did pretty well (laughs).
It's too big to be called a gadget.
The world is a big place, and I'm still a novice when it comes to people who are into audio. The world is really a big place.
That being said, after listening to a variety of speakers in search of my final set of speakers, I finally decided on the first generation Sonus Faber Electa Amatores (early model).
Sonus faber Electa Amator appearance

Beautiful...simply beautiful...
Sonus Faber is an Italy-based workshop founded by master speaker maker Franco Serblin in the northern Italian city of Vicenza.
The speaker's name comes from the Latin and means "chosen friend."
The enclosure is made of precious Brazilian rosewood, which is now subject to import restrictions, and is beautifully crafted. The wooden stand embedded in the marble base adds to its stunning beauty.
The front baffle is covered with thick genuine leather, and the 18cm woofer is designed to spill out from the baffle, with the part that spills out being raised. This is the design point of the Electa Amatoru.
About Sonus faber

The first-generation Elekta Amator was the debut product in Japan for Sonus Faber founder Franco Serblin, and is said to be his most representative speaker.
The early Sonus Faber Elekta Amatolu, which was made with an approach completely different from modern musicality, focused on creating an enclosure that takes advantage of the warmth and beauty of wood with a design that makes the most of the resonance of the box. The enclosure is very tasteful, expressing the beauty of wood in the sound.
As a result, Electa Amatole has succeeded in creating a unique world view and has created passionate fans not only in Japan but all over the world.
Sonus faber Electa Amator Specifications
Looking at the specifications of the first-generation Elekta Amatoru, the enclosure is made of the Brazilian rosewood mentioned earlier, the tweeter is equipped with a top-of-the-line unit, the Dynaudio T330, and the woofer is a custom-made product made by ScanPeak.
This luxurious specification shows how important a debut work this was to Franco Serblin.
And it's amazing that speakers from 27 years ago are still working without any deterioration.
Sound quality of Sonus faber Electa Amator

I would like to write a review after actually listening to various sounds.
In the author's personal environment, the listening test will be conducted on a McIntosh MA7200.
First of all, the appearance: I think the design of the 18cm woofer spilling out from the baffle is the accent of this speaker.
The design of the tweeter and woofer is intimidating and may be a matter of personal preference, but the design and texture of the enclosure, which makes extensive use of wood (precious Brazilian rosewood), and the stand are artistic.
In terms of sound quality, the original Amatol has a very thick and rich sound. The sound also has a sense of scale, and some songs can take your breath away. The string instruments and vocals in particular have a fascinating magic. The violin sounds lustrous and loud, and the vocals have a realistic breathing and wetness of the lips that will give you goosebumps.
The image is like small, popping bubbles coming out of the speakers, enveloping the sound with a softness.
Also, compared to the Benele Signature that I previously owned, the sound image and positioning are clearer, and the sound is better with less blurring.
The bass starts at 45Hz and has a great volume, better than that of a cheap tallboy speaker.
I feel like it has more power than the Benere Signature. I think this is amazing for a bookshelf speaker.
In summary, the first-generation Electa Amatole (early model) is an instrument with a very rich sound, and it produces beautiful classical and jazz vocals. However, I felt that it was a great machine with the depth to make pop music sound beautiful, supported by rich bass. I felt the true essence of pure audio.
Finally, here is an air recording of Erecta Amatol.
Summary
Sonus Faber's first-generation Electa Amatore gives you the feeling of the comfortable Italian breeze.
The sound is rich and captivating to audiophiles, and at first glance it is cheerful, yet somehow reminiscent of a seductive adult woman.
I believe that the early Sonus Faber was a workshop that produced that kind of charm and magic.
No matter how sophisticated modern speakers are, there are sounds that can only be produced by these speakers that are over 25 years old. Pure audio is a deep subject.
If I bought the latest Electa Amatol III, I'd probably be happy with it.
However, once you experience this sound, it's an audio gadget with a magical power that you can't let go of.
This is Sonus Faber's first Electa Amatore.
